Until 2012, Norway has lacked a venue for informal meetings between business and politics. Arendalsuka was arranged for the first time in 2012. It was a huge success and this year it will be the most important meeting place between leaders in politics and business, the media and people in Arendal and surrounding areas.
In Sweden, Almedalen and the Båstadseminar has become important meeting places. Almedalsveckan leads to local involvement, increased attention for the hosts and increased revenue for local businesses. In addition, the events creates solid positioning of the companies involved.
Arendalsuka will be an annual forum where national delegates in politics, society and industry meet each other and the public, to debate and develop policies for the present and future.
Arendalsuka is politically independent, and aims to strengthen the belief in politics and political debate. Arendalsuka will help to strengthen the power of our democracy.
- be a political meeting place.
- create a broad public involvement in the election.
- help organizations and individuals come into direct contact with our key national politicians and business leaders.
Arendalsuka is an independent initiative launched to contribute to political debate in the public domain. A few individuals came up with the idea, and the first Arendalsuka was arranged with the help of volunteers, sponsors and other good helpers. The continuation of Arendalsuka is also an independent volunteer project, but a new organisation and structure.
