- Om arrangementet
Norsk tittel: "Nå må vi våkne fra dvalen og finne frem linjalen: Oppfølging og samarbeid med de store teknologigigantene"
Managing large international companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon requires a high level of competence and national approach. Currently, the Netherlands has been paving the way by establishing a department under the Ministry of Justice which conducts assessments of these types of companies on a national level. This undertaking makes it possible for local and regional authorities to assess, take ownership and make sound decisions locally on how to implement and utilise products and services from these same aforementioned actors.
In Norway, KS, in close collaboration with the municipality of Bergen and a broad variety of other municipalities, has led the way by conducting a national DPIA on the use of Google products in schools. KiNS has participated actively and is a contributing through being on the steering committee for this project.
On this backdrop, we invite you to a panel discussion where certain generic experiences from the way Dutch authorities have approached and organised a best practice. Experiences, current situation and history from the project “National DPIA for Google’s products and services in Norwegian schools” will be discussed. We emphasise that the discussion will not delve into DPIA as a subject or Google as a supplier, but will focus on what can be transferable to other similar, or dissimilar national digitalisation projects involving challenges and barriers on information security and privacy.
Hence, the direction of the conversation will evolve around how to succeed with national digitalisation projects involving new forms of thinking, collaboration and stronger national management/coordination.
